Everything you need to set up a golf day, one step at a time. Nobody sees your day until you press Launch to players, so take your time.
Signing in
There's no password. You sign in with a link we email to you.
- Open greenbound.co.uk/admin.html, type your email address and press Send me a link. New to Greenbound? Press Create an account instead.
- Open the email called “Your Greenbound admin sign-in link” and tap the link. It works for 15 minutes.
- That's it. The same phone or computer stays signed in. On a different one, just ask for a new link.
Setting the day up
Admin takes you through it one step at a time. You can go back and change anything before you launch.
- The name of the day and the date.
- The course. Search for the club and pick the tees.
- What you're playing, for example Stableford, a scramble or Best 2 to count. Best 2 to count or Best 3 of 4 can also go with Stableford or Stroke play, for two competitions off one card.
- Teams, if it's a team competition like a Ryder Cup.
- Your golfers. See Adding your golfers.
- Tee times: who plays together, and when.
- The rounds to score.
- Check it all, then launch. See Launching the day.
Adding your golfers
On the Players step, press + Add players from your roster or a spreadsheet. Then pick whichever is easiest:
- From your tee sheet. Drag your spreadsheet (CSV or Excel) onto the box, or copy the rows and paste them in. Put a header row at the top and the columns can be in any order. A Time column sets up the tee times for you.
- From your roster. Search for anyone who has played with you before, then press + Add.
- One at a time. Type a name and a handicap index, then press + Add one player.
A place you haven't filled yet can go in as TBC. You can put the right name on it later, or remove it.
Sign-ups and your link
Sign-ups give you one link to send out. Your golfers open it, find their name and sign themselves up.
- While you're setting the day up, press See who has signed up. On your list of days being set up, it's the Sign-ups button.
- Press Open sign-ups. Greenbound makes one link for that day.
- Press Copy the link or Copy a WhatsApp message, and send it the way you normally would: WhatsApp, email or text. That link is all your golfers need. There's nothing to install and no account to make.
- Watch them come in on the same screen, with each golfer's handicap and who hasn't paid yet. Put on tee sheet places someone, and Download as a spreadsheet gives you the whole list.
Press Close sign-ups to stop new sign-ups. If you open them again, the same link still works.
What a golfer sees
- They tap your link and see your day, with the tee times down the page.
- They find their own name, or type part of it to search. An empty spot shows as “Free place”.
- They type their handicap index. For a plus handicap they put + first, for example +1.1. If they haven't got one, they tick “I don't have a handicap”. They can add their golf club and England Golf number too.
- It takes about a minute. They get an email to confirm, and they show up on your sign-ups list straight away.
Handicaps
Every golfer needs a handicap before the day can go live.
- Anyone without one shows Handicap needed on the Players step. Type theirs in beside their name, or remove a TBC place nobody has taken.
- Golfers who sign up can ask for their handicap to be checked with England Golf. On the sign-ups screen, press Check handicaps and follow the steps. You sign in to England Golf yourself, in your own browser. Greenbound never sees your England Golf password.
- The check only offers a match for the right name at the right club, and tells you when the club isn't an exact match. Nothing changes until you say so.
Launching the day
- On the last step, check everything, then press Launch to players.
- Your day goes live straight away. It's the day golfers see when they scan your QR code or open your link.
- The day that was live before moves to Past events. Nothing is deleted, and its scores stay there.
If a round is still being played on the day that's live now, Greenbound asks you before it launches. And a day can't launch until every golfer has a handicap.
Stuck? Nothing you do while setting up is seen by anyone until you launch, so it's safe to try things. Back to admin
