Terms of use
Last updated 30 September 2026
1. Who we are
Greenbound is run by [OPERATOR: company name, company number, registered address] ("we"). Contact: [SUPPORT EMAIL]. These terms are between us and the person or society who opens an organiser account ("you"). Golfers who only score in an event don't need an account and aren't bound by the paid-plan parts.
2. Your account
- Keep your sign-in to yourself. You're responsible for what's done in your account, including by co-organisers you add.
- You must be 18 or over to open an organiser account.
- You can close your account at any time from the app.
3. The free plan
A round of up to 8 players in 2 tee groups is free. We can change what's free with 30 days' notice. Changes won't affect a league or cup you already have running.
4. Paid plans
- A year of society days: £150. Any size of field, for 12 months.
- A league: £150. One league, for as long as it runs.
- A Ryder Cup: £295. One team event.
Prices include VAT [CHECK: VAT registered or not]. Payment is taken [TO DECIDE: how, and by whom].
Refunds. [TO DECIDE, e.g.: a full refund within 14 days if you haven't used it for an event; after that, no refund unless we can't provide the service] Your legal rights as a consumer aren't affected.
5. Handicaps and results
Greenbound works out scores and results from the handicaps and course details entered. It is not the official World Handicap System record, and it doesn't submit scores to England Golf or any other body. The organiser is responsible for the handicaps used, for settling disputes and for the final result, including prizes and any money taken.
6. Using it fairly
Don't use Greenbound to break the law, to message people who haven't agreed to hear from you, to upload other people's details without the right to, or to try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours. We can suspend an account that does, and we'll tell you why.
7. Golfers' data
When you add golfers, you are in charge of their details and we look after them for you. The data processing terms below apply. You confirm you have a proper reason to add each golfer, and that you'll tell them their details are held in Greenbound. Linking them to our privacy policy does that.
8. Availability
We work hard to keep Greenbound running, including on a busy competition day, but we can't promise it will never be down. Keep a paper card for a competition that can't be replayed.
9. Our liability
Nothing here limits liability we can't legally limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months. We're not liable for lost profits, prize or bet disputes, or losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen.
10. Changes and ending
We'll give 30 days' notice of changes that matter, by email and in the app. If you don't agree, you can close your account before they take effect. For a change that takes away something you've paid for, we'll refund the unused part. We can close an account for a serious breach of these terms, or after 30 days' notice for any other reason, with a refund of the unused part.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute.
Data processing terms
These apply where you are the controller of golfers' data and we are your processor, as UK GDPR Article 28 requires. We will:
- use golfers' data only to run Greenbound for you, and on your instructions;
- make sure everyone with access to it is bound to keep it confidential;
- keep it secure: encrypted connections, access limited by account, and sign-in by one-time links rather than passwords;
- use only the sub-processors listed in the privacy policy, and tell you before adding another, so you can object;
- help you answer golfers who ask to see, correct or delete their data;
- tell you without undue delay, and within 48 hours, if a breach affects your golfers' data;
- delete or hand back the data when your account closes;
- give you the information you need to show these terms are kept.
